Know that Reformer Pilates was originally developed by a man to rehabilitate soldiers, among other things. Mat Pilates followed later. In America, there are many top athletes who have Pilates as part of their training. And in England, Pilates was once introduced by two men in Formula 1 races, in world-class tennis and football, men do Pilates for injury prevention!

Pilates is one of the fastest growing fitness trends in the world and men definitely benefit from the many advantages of Pilates. Core strength, flexibility, balance, uniform development and efficient movement patterns – these are all characteristics of Pilates training and very relevant to men’s fitness.

Developing core strength (Powerhouse) in the deeper muscles from the center ensures improved trunk stabilization and provides protection for the back. It increases your flexibility and freedom of movement in a way that men often feel comfortable with. Men are especially less flexible in the hips, hamstrings and shoulder girdle and therefore also less in their rotational movements. Reformer Pilates exercises gradually give these areas more freedom of movement.

Pilates is hard work, in a relaxed way. So also a good pick-me-up when you experience stress from a busy job for example!
